How to read a number
RM-01.002.003-0001-7 is a format example, not an issued record. The numeric branch identifies the domain, workflow and narrower category levels. The next four digits identify the product within its original final category. The last digit is a Luhn check digit to help detect typing errors.
Category numbers use RM-C- followed by the same branch code. Each segment is assigned within its parent branch. The lookup shows the readable category path.
Stable identity as the catalog grows
Numbers are assigned once, never recycled and do not change when categories are renamed or products are reclassified. The original assignment remains in the registry; the product page shows the current category. A product record has one number across its pack sizes. Manufacturer catalog numbers remain separate and identify purchasable variants.
Scope and authority
These are SciBranch identifiers for this catalog. They are not CAS Registry Numbers, manufacturer SKUs, or an internationally recognized standard. A number identifies a product record and does not establish chemical identity, regulatory status or experimental interchangeability.
